Prevention and risk verification of chronic non-communicable diseases are among the most urgent tasks for contemporary healthcare.</p> <p>Inflammatory bowel diseases, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, are characterized by a chronic and recurrent course. Inflammatory bowel diseases of unknown etiology are considered to multifactorial, affecting both psychological and social well-being, and significantly reducing patients’ quality of life.</p> <p>This review aims to explore environmental risks in the development of inflammatory bowel disease, based on the literature. The review was conducted on the materials of Russian and foreign scientometric, abstract, and full-text databases. The period of publications included in the analysis spanned from 1980 to 2023. A total of 44 publications were analyzed.</p> <p>Current medical practice acknowledges the association of risk factors and the development of multicausal diseases. The probability of disease occurrence is determined by the impact of certain risk factors, with social factors being of particular importance. A combination of factors, including an improved socioeconomic status of newly industrialized countries, which trigger environmental dynamics, increases the risk of inflammatory bowel diseases. The impact of environmental risks may be a potential missing link in understanding the etiology and increasing prevalence of inflammatory bowel diseases in recent years.</p> <p>Investigating the relationship between environmental factors and inflammatory bowel diseases may improve understanding of the etiopathogenesis, identify strategies for disease prognosis and prevention, and prepare the healthcare system for the growing burden of this group of chronic non-communicable diseases.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Хронические неинфекционные заболевания являются ведущей патологией XXI в. Профилактика хронических неинфекционных заболеваний, верификация рисков выступает одной из наиболее актуальных задач современного здравоохранения.</p> <p>Воспалительные заболевания кишечника, включающие язвенный колит и болезнь Крона, характеризуются хроническим рецидивирующим течением. При неустановленной этиологии воспалительные заболевания кишечника рассматриваются как многофакторные заболевания, влияющие на психологическое и социальное благополучие и в значительной степени ухудшающие качество жизни пациентов.</p> <p>Цель обзора: рассмотреть инвайронментальные риски в формировании воспалительных заболеваний кишечника по данным литературы. Обзор проводился по материалам российских и зарубежных наукометрических, реферативных и полнотекстовых баз данных. Период публикаций: 1980–2023 гг. Проанализированы 44 публикации.</p> <p>Современная медицинская практика строится на концепции ассоциированности факторов риска и формирования мультикаузальных заболеваний. Вероятность возникновения болезни определяется воздействием тех или иных факторов рисков, облигатными из которых являются социальные. Сочетание факторов, включая улучшение социально-экономического положения новых промышленно развитых стран, инициирующего инвайронментальную динамику, увеличивает риск развития воспалительных заболеваний кишечника. Воздействие инвайронментальных рисков является возможным недостающим звеном в понимании этиологии и увеличении распространённости воспалительных заболеваний кишечника в последние годы.</p> <p>Изучение взаимосвязи между инвайронментальными факторами и воспалительными заболеваниями кишечника может улучшить понимание этиопатогенеза, определить стратегии прогнозирования и профилактики заболевания, подготовить систему здравоохранения к растущему бремени данной группы хронических неинфекционных заболеваний.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>chronic diseases</kwd><kwd>inflammatory bowel diseases</kwd><kwd>environmental risks</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>хронические заболевания</kwd><kwd>воспалительные заболевания кишечника</kwd><kwd>инвайронментальные риски</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Kobyakova OS, Deev IA, Kulikov ES, et al.
